Unfair Trade Practices and Poor quality of Products/Services

My complaint is regarding the bad quality of products and services offered by HTC. The company is exploiting Indian consumers by offering the worst quality of products and services. HTC not only produces poor quality but also practices unfair trade policies, e.g.my first HTC One device which resembled a refurbished/used handset with pink coloured matter all around(though it was a sealed box piece), with several issues for which HTC verified and provided me with DOA(replacement). The replacement again had issues for which DOA was again provided! And the third device which started giving me trouble, within few days of purchase. With issues still unresolved, 5th service in progress along with an accessory replaced and the device is at the service centre. Now the company has assured a replacement again with the same device bearing the ticket number: 14INCW08ENA000939. CONSEQUENCE: for HTC One: For DOA replacements I had to wait for a minimum of 1 week for the first replacement and more than 2 weeks for the 2nd due to unavailability of stock and now for the 3rd i am supposed to wait for another 15days+10days. More than 1 week for accessory(handsfree). This has caused a lot of inconvenience to me, without contacts, handsfree etc…! To submit, collect, load data, travel to and fro was another big consequence. Presently I reside in Vellore. Everytime, I had to travel all the way from Vellore which has caused so much of inconvenience, travelling more than 5 hours to Bangalore and search for accommodations, taxis, food etc.. Every time I collected my device I was supposed to load data and download the necessary, time ranging around 3 hrs for data transfer every time. 3 replacements of phone and a replacement of an accessory with 5 repairs. So I have paid in 1000’s till date to travel to service centre apart from food and lodging. Every call to HTC was around 30 minutes on average- Lost several hours of precious time. Enough i have faced because of this device HTC One and my previous HTC Desire HD. I was assured of replacements(for HTC One)earlier and refused twice. Every detail is stored in HTC database, but not the assurance of replacements. The worst trade practices a company could ever practice. I would have been happy if they had provided me replacement earlier for i did rely on this device but not anymore. Previous HTC device was HTC Desire HD worth Rs.27800. I was staying 50 kms away from HTC service centre Ovez Communications(Shoolay Circle) and one more centre Salora International at HSR layout(easily accessible from my home than the rest), apart from the fuel charges I had to pay a toll charge of around Rs150 to and fro. I own a Mini Sports Bike giving a mileage of around 24 kms per litre. So everytime I had to spend around Rs 500 to travel to the service centres and time of more than 4 hours. 6 times for service, 2 times for accessory replacements apart from a replacement along with service. Loss of data made me loose an important job cum business opportunity. Due to loss of contacts at that time, I was considered as uninterested. If it hadn’t happen, I would have probably flourished in business. I probably lost my future itself. I have lost enough because of substandard devices manufactured by HTC. A warranty of 1 year doesn’t mean that the phone is to be repaired once in a month or once in 2 months. One handset, 2 hands-free, motherboard replaced, charger replaced in 8 visits in a span of 1.25 years for HTC desire HD. 3 handset replacements along with one replacement of hands-free in 8 visits to the service centre for HTC One… Total Losses Incurred=Rs 19000. Inference about the quality of products- worst isn’t it! Now being assured the 3rd replacement, i am afraid because i have faced enough till date and don’t want to lose anything by having a unreliable device. If i was offered a next better reliable model of phone which i had demanded HTC, i wouldn’t be writing here. For i would’ve considered the expenses incurred for a flawless phone better than this(though it really cannot be compensated). I did explain this to the escalation team of HTC, they aren’t in a position to understand though i explained every detail which are mentioned above. They process as they want without caring about consumer satisfaction, who are the sole sufferers. The devices have devastated my routine life. Investment wasn’t worth at all. Won’t relax until my case is justified. I am appealing here will wait for few more days(if they provide me next better model without flaws, i will drop this here for sure), if unresolved- will appeal to the “Consumer Forum” managed by government (to get replacement with higher model, compensation, travel expenses), will file another lawsuit against quality so as to avoid buyers from being lured and cheated by these substandard mobile manufacturers, for buyers usually fail to think about the other gruesome side. I have lost enough, don’t wan’t to lose anything more and will strive to get justice till the end.
