SONY Bravia LCD 32″ TV

Name of company/service: SONY BRAVIA LCD 32″

I had purchased LCD TV of Sony Bravia (model no. KLV-32 BX 300) on Nov, 2010 and after 2 years of successfully running, the display is Coming distorted. I register a complaint, which was very expensive, INR 200 for visit + INR. 600 diagnose + parts additional. After Service Engineer”s visit, Color Picture tube needs to be replaced and it will cost around INR 11000. If an LCD TV from a brand like Sony doesnt work for even 2 years, on what basis should customers differentiate between Sony and other brands? It makes more sense to buy products from cheaper brands which cost far less, and unfortunately if there are problems, the repairs are also going to be cheaper. Even if Color Picture Tube is replaced, what if it stops working after a year? I believe Sony will come asking for more money to replace that as well. It therefore turns out to be a heavy investment buying a Sony product and investing on it year after year to keep it functional. And I have no reasons to believe that the replaced panel will work longer. To make things more frustrating, Customer Care is hopeless. I have called them n times, and they either disconnect after keeping me on long hold, or transfer the call, or promise a callback or give some phone numbers to call, which nobody answers. This is the worst experience with Sony and after getting this kind of experience I will stop buying products from Sony and also ask my relative, friends & colleagues not to buy Sony products. Very weird, I believe this would impact on the virtue of Sony soon. As I saw multiple problems of same type at multiple sources. Please help in this context. Either I have to throw this SONY Bravia in a Dustbin or they show their ownership of good faith and Customer Services.
