I have received my first sbi credit card first statement showing a due amount of rs.560.68, recently. I wish to inform you that at the time of applying for the credit card it was told by sbi card representative that there will be absolutely no charge of any kind, I.E. No membership charge or no annual charge, this is absolutely free. Secondly it was also told to me that if I book movie ticket through ‘bookmyshow.Com’ portal, I will get 1 free ticket on every booked ticket.
I found the above both promises are false, fake and misleading as I see sbi card have charged annual fee 499 + gst debit on current statement rs.61.68 in their first statement itself. This shows how they fool people and do business.
I have clarified to sbi card representative that I do not wish to apply for a credit card which attracts any annual charges or any other charges, they forcefully convenience me that there is absolutely no charge on this card.
On receipt of first account statement I was shocked and I tried to contact on sbi credit customer care number and found that their system is too clumsy and time consuming. After 10 min waiting call was picked up and it was told to me to call after one hour again, as system is not working. Again I found myself fooled, I spent 16 minutes calling again and again to customer care. Finally customer care executive told me that annual charges are applicable and you have to use this card for at least rs.2000/- Then you will earn some reward points, then those points can be redeemed against annual fee. I do not accepted this proposal, sbi card are simply cheating people. It seems that they have placed third party contractors as their representatives who follow people to sell these cards on false statement and promises, they chase us rigorously and convenience that sbi card do not attract any charges. Mostly you will find them in any big bazar.
I would request you to take appropriate action and get this card cancelled immediately, I have not used this card and I will not be using this in future neither I want any membership of this sbi card.
I do not wish that sbi card executive call me again to convince me to use this card or follow up with me to pay annual charges as stated in their statement as I have not availed any facilities neither I wish to avail in future.
There are numerous similar complaints against sbi credit card on various portals on internet, this proves that this has not been stopped and they do not fear to do such frauds again and again. Can you please protect us against such cheating / Fraud and take strict actions to stop this.
