Poor product quality and apathy to consumer needs

This is Dr Lopamudra. Once again I am approaching this forum for my complaints. Let me tell.. that these days we have to complain against all the appliances that we use in our daily lives.

I got an air conditioner (Daikin Split AC model no FTE50MV16, 3 star) just a month before from an authorized AC dealer of Pondicherry (Rs 36000). I got it because I was told that instead of going for samsung or LG, I should get Daikin or Hitachi which are the big, in fact reputed companies for AC alone. I was also told that Daikin has the best warranty and the machine runs without any defect even for 10 years! This is the language of the poor customer (me) who does not have any knowledge about those engineering facts!

Suddenly I experienced that the AC sensor is not responding! In fact, it was the swing flap that was not working as before. I called the local dealer and they said that they are receiving similar complaints from all customers! Lo!!!! The flap was broken and they replaced the flap from their demo piece (Told to me by the dealer). I too asked the person regarding a permanent solution to this and he said he will consult and respond. I was doubtful whether it was recommended by the Daikin authorized team? He was clueless regarding this. Now, I feel that flap is hardly swinging and the cooling is very low compared to before.

I have again called the service people but their promise is very vague and false! I failed in that and complained in Daikin home page..but no response. I too called the customer care to book a complaint. The service request no allotted was MAA130515393 and i got an Sms confirmation too regarding the person (Mr Prem with phone no) who was supposed to assist me immediately. Nobody attended unfortunately and I tried calling the person on his number but it said the no does not exist! I too mailed the customer team stating that the complaint is not attended even after 7 days! No response from anyone yet..

What would anyone say this as? Carelessness or unprofessional attitude! Entirely different attitude while buying and while complaining. I remember having asked the dealer regarding where to approach in case it requires service and he said me not to worry because they themselves are the authorised dealers. I was fool to believe them and now I did not know that the problem would happen so early within 1 month of purchase!

I feel so frustrated! Whom to believe? Everybody is having a deaf ear towards this..I don’t know what to do with the AC? Many anticipations like the AC quality and durability are puzzling me. I feel that such products should not be marketed or replaced if complaints arise. At least they should respect the customer’s interest! Do you feel that my concern is not genuine as a poor customer?

  1. thanks. i am planning to buy a daikin ac and the deal is getting finalised. what is ur suggestion. is the issue closed?. Now i strongly doubt the creadbility of this product and after sales service.
