I came to the ER room on New Year with a broken foot, barely able to walk and was baffled by what happened. The doctor got my foot X-Ray done and then said that I would need a foot cast. The doctor who was to put my foot cast is named Devender Yadav. Before he started the procedure, I asked him for the expenses that I would encur and he said that he would tell that to me afterward the procedure. That raised a red flag in my mind.
But I insisted that he tell me the rate right there and then. Then what happened baffled me. People, I was in pain and the doctor started calling me ‘pagal patient’ and said that he has come on new year eve at night to treat me and he was not doing business at that moment. Lol Doctor, what do you mean by that? And then he said that he isn’t doing business so does not want to talk about money. But after much insistance he told me the amount and that too was deceptively and not the complete amount. When I asked if this was the complete amount, his assistant tried to change the topic and told me that this is not how a patient is supposed to behave and they don’t want to talk about money. I insisted and then he told me the hidden amount so the total bill now was 50% more than what he had told me earlier. I was in so much pain and no one in my family was in town. And these people tried to take advantage of an alone patient in emergency room.
Then a couple of days afterwards after I complained to their management, a senior doctor called up and apologised and then never again picked up my call when I tried to call to ask some questions regarding my fracture. Also when I was leaving the ER that night when I had fractured my foot, they didn’t give me my x-ray reports. Their tactic so that I do not go to any other better doctor and that I am stuck with them. They didn’t even give me proper guidance as to if I can walk or not and how much to rest neither how I would care for my cast. I had to search everything from the internet.
I think the doctor does not deserve what I had paid him. My humble request to Paras Hospital is that they refund my money in full except for the material cost of-course.
