Misguide and wrong information about product

Name of company/service: MICROMAX – Funbook

On 23rd July 2012, I have purchased Micromax Funbook bill no. 125533 from Mobile Store Punjabi Bagh. As per the specification mentioned on the Funbook Box under the specification column connectivity section “3G Dongle Support via USB” I used my MTS dongle to start using the Funbook. But unfortunately to my surprise the funbook did not support the MTS dongle. To recheck the MTS connectivity I tried on my laptop and it worked properly. Next Day I called customer care 1860 500 8286 at 1322 Hrs and spoke to Ms Bhawna where I came to know that Micromax Funbook only supports the TATA Photon which was a shock to me as it was nowhere mentioned on the Funbook box which I purchased. As she was unable to comment on the complaint, she was not ready to transfer the call to her seniors as well. On many requests after 10 minutes of the call only she transferred the call to Mr. Roshan a technical person. He tried to give the explanation in technical terms and moreover he was unable to handle this query because they also know it’s not written anywhere that Funbook only supports the TATA Photon. He was shouting on me that you should check on website also before going to purchase. My Point of concern is:
1) Is it necessary to check on website before purchasing any product?
2) After checking on website also no where it is written that Funbook only supports TATA Photon 3G Dongle.
3) Mr. Roshan also told me that due to space constraint we have not written it on box under specification column that Funbook only supports the TATA Photon.
Please consider this matter and provide the solution.
