I had purchased Panasonic LED 81 cm TH-L32E3D TV from Croma, Himalaya Mall, Drive-in Road, Ahmedabad on 19-09-2012 with manufacturer’s warranty for one year and Croma extended warranty for 2 years. Extended warranty code is 172935. The TV went out of order and stopped working on 31-08-2014. Complaint was lodged before 04-09-2014, for which the claim id no. is 142551. The technicians, saying that there may be some disorder in the panel took the panel with them for repairing and said that they will bring it back after repair and it will take maximum 1 week. Upto 24-09-2014, they were telling that the panel has been sent for repairing in the company and on 25-09-2014 technicians came and took the TV set saying that they need to check it. Two days later they called and said that the panel is out of order and the company has stopped manufacturing that particular TV set model. So the chances of getting a new panel are very less but still they will try and let me know ASAP. After that I called them 3-4 times and they kept putting me off. Finally they called me on 01-10-2014 and said that it might take upto 6-7 months to get a new panel from the company or they can give 25000 INR refund in the form of Croma credit. I said I want a new TV and they said that I used that TV for 2 years so I can get only 25000 refund as Croma Credit. When people buy a TV, they expect it to work for atleast 5-6 years and not just replace in 2 years. Moreover, Croma is giving extended warranty of 2 years. If I don’t get my purchase price back or a new TV, whats the point of that warranty? Also how can a company discontinue a product without thinking of the customers? The customers who have bought that product, they are left hanging if things like these happen just because the company has stopped manufacturing that product.
