I was maintaining a credit card issued by SCB long ago. I surrendered the same in 2009 when it was renewed.
When I got checked my CIBIL account with CIR no. 738880759 i.e when I applied for a job, I came to know that there was a credit card default outstanding against my name to the tune of Rs 29000/-(approx) which was shocking for me as I didn’t had the card nor any outstanding.
Upon further enquiry, i came to know that it was of SCB. When I contacted them they sent a statement of outstanding of Rs 679/- which has some details of some ONLINE purchase through Paypal website WHICH I HAD NOT MADE and the rest of the amount is the charges which they have been levelling since 2009.
Anyhow, I contacted the bank and conveyed to them that as I have not made the said transaction and was also unaware of the said outstanding otherwise it would have been cleared.
They have agreed to issue me No Due Certificate by paying Rs 18000/-against my outstanding to settle the same BUT what I feel is it is way too much for the outstanding of Rs 679/-.
Moreover, they had failed to inform me during the course of 5 years ( No calls, No Statement, No person came).
I HAD LOST ThE JOB OPPORTUNITY which is a great lost to me.
Therefore, I request yourself to intervene and sort the matter in an Ammicable way.
