This is regarding the poor product reliability of a m/s Samsung mobile model and refusal of M/s Samsung to accept and provide a solution and demanding a un-reasonable money for corrective action.

I purchased a Samsung Wave 2 (S-8530) model phone in last year 2011 September. The phone was working good for 2months and then suddenly it started giving trouble in mic then I got it changed after a weeks time. Then it started giving trouble on the call taking hard key. Then it started in sensitive in the left side of the touch screen. Then the total display / touch screen failed.
Now that M/s Samsung is demanding money for replacement of the failed parts as the phone is just crossed warranty – this happened due to the fact that I struck in work schedule and could not reach to the Samsung center.
I just wanted to know is there a system to hold the company responsible for the reliability of the product and ask them why they stopped the product in market in a short time? and what are the complaints received so far for this product and with in warranty and post warranty, What is the cost of spare parts and their failure rate etc.,
Regarding the above I had many mail communications with them.
Initially they demanded more than 50 % of the purchase price of the mobile itself for this spare replacement and now that they are asking almost 30% equivalent of the price of the mobile for spare. This is costing aprox Rs 4800 for a hand set purchased at Rs 15800 one year ago.
This is un reasonable considering the fact this particular model is stopped from market by them – god know the reasons.
If one part itself will be costing equal to 30% of the price of mobile then what would be my operating cost of this phone during the estimated life time.
I would like to get a proper and genuine resolution for this issue.
