my name is nilam , student in deccan college. this year on 8-1- 2014 i and classmates were travelling from dehradun express , suddenly after we started our journey towards delhi in the middle of the night around 2.35 the train catches fire and we all have to just rush to save our lives some how we manage to save all our friends but we lost our luggage. as we continued the journey because it was important and reached delhi where we filed a complaint and asked for refund or compensation first of all the police didnot filled FIR they just took a written complaint and told us it will be sent to area were the accident happen then the area police will file a FIR. but as they told we waited but no results simultaneously we filed a complaint in railway head office in chruchgate, first of all they refused us by saying its not their problem but then some head came and took our written complaint. a month later i get letter from railway in which they mean that as per rule 100 or something they are not responsible for our luggage as it was not under the supervision of their staff, so i want to know if we were died in that accident the compensation would have been more logical but now when we are alive we are not eligible for ant compensation, and just not railway responsibility if because of their mistake some short circuit happen an 15 people lost their life , many lost their luggage but they are going to the compensation who are losing their lives in these kind of mishap.
i am just asking if any law is there to give us justice being a student i personally lost many things,their answers are not right, we paid the ticket amount and expect good service. train got burnt nobody came and ask a single thing or forms they were just trying to cover it up. atleast we deserve compensation not this kind of response
