My name is Purnima Singh. I’m an ex student of the reputed Delhi University. I would like to draw your attention towards a serious problem which may be of others as well . Last year (2013) I gave my 3rd year annual mode examination. I wish to pursue LLB 3 years therefore, I consulted some private instituitions offering the same. Before admission process, I informed them about my impending result. They accepted the circumstances and granted me admission.In addition they mentioned that, incase of withdrawl they would reimburse half the amount deposited. My result was declared in the month of august and unfortunately I was unable to clear one of my subjects as I was short of 3 marks to qualify. I informed the faculty of the instituition about this unfortunate event. As per their rule my name had to be struck off the rolls. I applied for revaluation but to no avail. I was awestruck when they denied reimbursment notwithstanding of my apprisal to them about my weak financial status. It was in 2013 when my result was declared and in 2014 when DU arranged for us to reappear. Despite my repeated assertions no one gives correct response. I had approached many private instituitions but due to lack of documents, they refuse to grant me admission. What should I do? Where should I go? Our country’s infrastructure is developing but education still suffers. Admissions are done before the declaration of results. Career is no joke. Do I have to drop this year as well? There are several policies, reservations but there is no policy to support a daughter of a divorcee. Its not just me but several other girls as well with the same problem. I request you to kindly look in the matter and resolve at the earliest.
