I had placed an order for sofa cum bed (order no- AB4950545) with Askme Bazaar on September 2, 2015. Delivery was to be done between 18th to 21st September. 2 weeks later on September 15, I received a sms stating that the product would be delivered within 5 to 6 working days. On September 22, I received a sms from Askme Bazaar stating that my order has been cancelled due to inadequacies at Askme Bazaar’s end and the money would be refunded back to my account within 3-5 working days. On calling the customer service seeking more information, the CS agent was unaware of the order being cancelled and said that my order was in transit and that I should ignore the sms about the product cancellation. Within 2 hours of this conversation, I received a sms stating that Askme Bazaar has already started the process for my refund. Confused with this conflicting information, I called the customer service cell again on September 23, and the CS agent (Ms. Smita) told me that it would take 24 working hours for the issue to be resolved and I received complaint no – 45799432 and 46449916. On September 28, when I called the helpline again for a status update on my complaint no, the CS agent supervisor (Ms. Anjali Ghule) told me that I would be receiving a clarification in 4 hours but on calling again after 4 hours, I was told that 4 more hours would be required. During this call I overheard Ms. Anjali complaining to her colleague in Marathi (thinking that I don’t follow the language) that “having to resolve my problem has ruined her day”. On September 29, when I called back again to know the status of my order I was told by a CS agent supervisor (Ms. Niraj Yadav) that she could not give me any details as 7 working days had still not passed from the first complaint. She did not have the courtesy to even tell me the status of my order and went on to quote the companies policy that she couldn’t help before 7 working days. In addition, her attitude while registering my complaint was very callous and she went so far as to say that since my order is for Rs. 18500 they were highlighting/escalating the matter (read- if the purchase amount was lesser, she wouldn’t have even have bothered with registering a complaint.)
It has been nearly a month since I placed the order with Askme Bazaar and I still don’t know if I would be receiving my product or if my money would be refunded. Constantly following up with customer service executives has not yielded any tenable information. Hence at this juncture I want my money refunded so that I can at least purchase the required furniture from another retailer.
This is my first e-retailing experience with Askme Bazaar and it has been unpleasant and traumatizing that least to say that I would not be shopping with Askme Bazaar again and would recommend that people refrain from doing the same.
