Hi Sir/Madam,
I applied for Reliance post paid SIM card on Monday 22nd July 2013 at around 3 PM at Reliance Web World, Powai, Mumbai office. I had submitted all the genuine documents required to get a SIM card and these documents were verified by the attending officer at the time of submission. I was told that my SIM card would be activated by today evening or late by tomorrow Morning. I waited till 23rd July evening and tried calling Reliance Customer care to inquire about my SIM card activation.
I sent my colleague to visit Reliance Web World, Powai and attending officer (Sarvesh) checked and later called me from Reliance Web World and told me that the documents have been successfully submitted and I can call on 59059 from my phone to finish verification. I agreed and disconnected the phone.
I called 59059 from my Reliance mobile phone and call failed. I tried dialing from my Vodafone number but 59059 is invalid number for Vodafone customers. I tried calling back Sarvesh but call didn’t go through.
I had no option but to try calling customer care. The customer care executive (Avinash) told me that my documents have not been received. I told him the confirmation I have received from Reliance Web World. At this time I didn’t know whom to trust. Avinash Also told me to call 59059 to which I told him that my SIM is inactive and I cant make a call. He further told me to call it from some friend’s Reliance mobile phone number. I was surprised and I told him that I do not have any friend who has Reliance connection but I do have a Vodafone number with me, so it would be really helpful of him if he can give a number to be dialed by other carriers. Upon hearing this, he asked to hold on and later disconnected the call. This gentleman had no Idea on what he was talking. At one stage he told me that documents have not been received and later he told me that I should call 59059. His attitude was not customer friendly at all.
I called up the Reliance Web World and a lady answered the phone in fed up tone. She asked me what am I calling in for? I told her that my number has not been activated even after 2 days so it would help if she can check. She asked my name and told me that she will check and revert in 5-10 minutes. I asked her how can she check based on my first name only as she didn’t even take my mobile number. She told me that she knows how to check and will check and call. I waited for 1 hour but she didn’t call. I tried calling back but the phone receiver had been disengaged.
1. I found total lack of co-operation and lack of professionalism in the staff. I had been delaying my business connections as my number is not active and bearing losses.
2. I found that the attending officials (Except Sarvesh) had no respect for the customers.
3. I found that the customer care executives and no knowledge of the process and taking the customers for a ride.
I want to file a complaint against Reliance Web World for the distress they have made me go through and I want them to apologize for the behavior of their staff.
