This referance to the ‘CaseID=006-268-956’ Transactions Dispute at SBI .
on 15th jan 2013 early morning (around 5.00 am) when I checked my mobile, I found a 3 sms from tata credit card for a transactions . The details are as follows
date of transaction : 15th jan 2013
amount of transaction : 19083.49
transaction details in sms and mail: macy’s east 536
time of sms: 04.07 am on 15th jan 2013.
Date of transaction : 15th jan 2013
amount of transaction : 24158.09
transaction details in sms and mail: macy’s east 536
time of sms: 04.13 am on 15th jan 2013.
Date of transaction : 15th jan 2013
amount of transaction : 24868.62
transaction details in sms and mail: macy’s east 536
time of sms: 04.17 am on 15th jan 2013.
After noticing the transaction, I immediately called tata credit card customer service 02060008000 at 5.15 am to block the card. They blocked the card after verification.As my card was not stolen or lost I asked them( name of the person was manoj)2 times that shall I make police complaint as I haven’t made those transactions, so he told me not to doany complaint as he has already blocked the card .
I received more 3 sms’s from tata card telling 3 additional transactions worth rs. 78.95,5482.50 and rs 20131.74 have been declined as the card was blocked.
When I asked them to stop the payment for the above fraudulent transaction which happened in very early morning, the customer service said, they can not do it.And as a process after merchant claims the amount, I should fill in the dispute form and submit to customer care for the above transaction. This process will require almost 90 days to settle.
I was surprized to know that even if alert customer is calling them and informing them of fraudulent transaction, the customer service is not taking prompt action to find out where and how the fraud happened. They were not even able to tell the merchant’s name and location and were nor in position to stop the transaction.
I have the card with me. I never handed it to anyone. This is clear case of credit card hacking. Can tata sbi card act swiftly to find culprit and help the customers.
