I am David Thomas. I own a Maruti Suzuki Ldi. Unfortunately I crashed my car and I figured that my insurance policy is with Royal Sundaram. For the past 3 weeks, RS has been trying to write of my car under “total damage”. My service centre informed me that the repair work will come up to 1.25 lakh and the car has been valued worth 2.87 lakh. This is not even half of the valued amount and the insurance company has no rights to salvage it till the damage is 70%.
I keep getting back to back calls from RS saying that they have found a buyer for my car(who asked them to?) and the buyer is willing to pay 2.20l and RS will pay 67k. The plan is to close my case by paying 67k and make profit from selling my car after repairs. Its a diesel swift so the resale value is good. Do I need a better reason to believe that I am being scammed? Totally unexpected from Royal Sundaram. Extremely upset. I would not prefer anyone dealing with them. An insurance company is expected to help you at times of one’s need and not bargain. Imagine if I had taken a life insurance and then a cardiac arrest had happened?
