I applied for an internet connection with You Broadband on 1 September 2014. The agent Mr P. Srinivas informed me the cost of connection would be Rs 3940 for 6 months. I paid Rs 2000 and he gave me a bill specifying the amount I paid. I was asked to remit the remaining amount when I received the connection which he assured me then would be in two days time. Having received the payment there was no further response from the agent or the company. After 2 days when I called him he said it would require a weeks time. Upon getting no connection for over two weeks I asked for a refund. He agreed to it by phone. From the next day he stopped attending any calls from my number. I called the customer care number and was informed that my number was not registered with their system.
After waiting for 3 weeks I went to the You Broadband office in Begumpet. The Zonal Manager Mr Mallavelli informed me that the agent we consulted was their employee but had been committing fraud recently by taking money from new customers without registering their names with the company. Mr Mallavelli assured me the money would be deducted from Mr P. Srinivas’s salary and given to me within a weeks time. I have visited the office twice in October and one time in November; every-time I was given verbal assurances that the money would be returned and they needed some more processing time. Beginning of this month when I called the Office they informed me the cheque had been couriered. I asked for the details of the courier and they assured me it would be mailed to my mail ID. So far I have neither received any payment nor any details of cheque or courier.
I visited their page on Facebook and saw that there were other customers who were assured the same thing and tricked.
