purified water having smell of plastic and tasted like tap water

Hi,

I bought a kent grand plus 10 days back. The water is having plastic smell and it has no sweetness as claimed by kent at the time of buying. The water taste like tap water (even worse because of that plastic smell). The service man said they can do nothing about water quality and said that TDS is already at 22. Now my question is why the water has plastic smell and what about the claim of sweetness in water. But it seems Kent service man has no answer , even they hinted that sweetness may be a false claim.
