Poor Quality and Bad Service Handling

Name of company/service: Eureka Forbes Vacuum Cleaner

We had purchased a Vacuum Cleaner (Model Name: Euroclean Star) from Eureka Forbes Ltd. located in Vastrapur, Ahmedabad on January 16, 2013 for Rs.6990/- through our credit card. However, we could not operate it even once after purchase as there was some technical defect or the other in the machine. First, the coil winding button was not working. When that was repaired, the machine would not start. After three such repairing trips to the shop we asked them to change the piece on February 20, 2012. However, they have not done so even until today after the passage of a month.

On top of such poor quality product, the after-sales service is also bad. I called the shop up last Saturday and was told to come and pick up the new machine. However, as I could not do so because of certain previous commitments, I went to the shop today and was told that they would require 5 more days to get the new machine!

We have not been able to use this machine even once after shelling out nearly Rs.7k. Indian consumers surely should be treated better than this.
