My transfer application was approved and I was happy that I was relocating to Bangalore. Bangalore – Silicon Valley and land of opportunities in India. City of Gardens with one of the best climates in the metropolitan cities of India. But all this excitement was short lived as soon as I hired Perfect Packers and Movers from Vashi to shift my household goods from Mumbai to Bangalore.

Sunil Poonia, proprietor of Perfect and Movers was so nice with me at the time of negotiation and I was happy that I’m giving my goods in the right hands, but that was a mistake. As soon as my goods were loaded in the tempo, my nightmare started. Sunil forced me to come to his office for the advance payment and levied 12.25% Service Charges on the total amount agreed, which he never disclosed at the time of negotiation. He also charged Rs. 750/- for the insurance of my LCD tv but he never gave any insurance papers for the same to me. PLEASE READ ON. THE BIGGEST SHOCK OF THIS TRANSACTION IS YET TO COME.

Sunil promised that the goods will be delivered on the 4th day, but he delivered them on the 6th day, because of which I have to stay with my relatives for 2 days with my family.

On the 6th day I got the call from his Bangalore counterpart and he demanded that I have to come to their office and pay the balance amount and only then they’ll dispatch the goods, to which I blatently refused. I told him that first deliver the goods and then I’ll make the payment. He refused and I had to talk to Sunil Poonia in Mumbai. Sunil reluctantly agreed and his Bangalore counterpart brings the goods to my doorsteps. Haggling started once again. He was adament that I have to pay the balance amount first and only then he’ll unload and unpack the goods. I was adament that unload and unpack the goods first. I’ll check whether everything is proper and then I’ll pay the remaining amount. He had a very long discussion with Sunil in Mumbai and then he informed me that he DIDN’T BRING MY LCD TV, THE COSTLIEST ITEM IN THE LIST !!

He told me that by mistake they didn’t loaded the LCD TV in this consignment and it’ll come in the next consignment after 3 days. It was hard to believe but I had no option available with me. After 3 days I called Sunil again and he refused to pick my phone. I tried continuously for 1 day, once he picked, abused me and disconnected the phone. Next day he picked the phone and told me that TV will be delivered by coming Saturday. Whole Saturday and Sunday he didn’t picked my phone. On Monday I sent my friend Milind to his office in Vashi. Sunil talked very nicely with him and told him that the TV is on the way and will reach within 2 days. I was happy that probably this time I’ll get my TV. But I was mistaken. There was no sign of TV. I was desperate. I wasn’t able to understand what shall I do. This was sheer rowdyism. I talked to a lawyer who suggested of sending a legal notice to him and wait for 15 days. And if we didn’t get any response then we can go to consumer court. I wanted a faster action. What about police? Shall I goto police? I was thinking and discussing it with me well wishers. In the meanwhile my wife discussed the issue with my father in law and he decided to talk to Sunil. He called and Sunil told him that somebody has died in his relations and he should call him on Monday. We waited till Monday. On Monday Sunil played the same tectics and refused to pick the phone calls from us. Enough is enough now. We now want to explore all the options available with us. We were not ready to let our TV go like this, which we buyed with our hard earned money. We started talking with people and the ways of putting pressure on perfect movers and packers. On Wednesday my father in law had a heated argument with Sunil and Sunil abused him like anything. Sunil declared that he’ll not give the TV now and we can do whatever we want to do. “Nahi deta TV jao. Jahan jana hai jao, jidhar report karni hai karo aur aayinda idhar phone mat karna”. This is the language he used. WHAT A BLATANT DISREGARD OF LAW. My father in law also told him that “Ab to hum dekhte hain ke tu TV kaise nahi dega”. We put some more pressure on him through my cousin, whose friend is having some links in Mumbai police. After 20 days of haggling Sunil finally told to my cousin’s friend (NOT ME) that the TV is dispatched, but he’ll not deliver it at my home. I have to collect it from Mumbai-Mysore highway at a place called Nelamangala which is 35 KMs from my place. I was afraid going alone at this place. How can I believe on the words of a criminal. He can do anything with me. I requested my neighbour and friend to come along with me. We went to Nelamangala, waited there for an hour, and then finally truck driver arrived, delivered the TV and we paid the balance amount. The nightmare finally ended. But friends I wanted to share my story with you all. So that you can be much more careful while dealing with Movers and Packers guys. In any case please never deal with Perfect Movers and Packers.
