I booked a tour to Thialand-Bankok-Fuket for the period of 2nd May-9th May 2012 through Cox & Kings Travels ,Prabhat Road, Pune well in advance in the view to attend Rotary International Convention in that period.
Being announced as an official travel agent I myself and my wife Dr. Priyadarshini booked this tour well in advance on 22/07/2011 with the chk.payment of Rs.10,000/-
Subsequently as the date of trip was approaching closer the Cox & Kings company ask us to pay the balance amount which was again paid by chk. Rs.1,10,654/- on 28th Feb.2012 along with Rs. 5000/-cash as was asked for some sundry expenses.
Unfortunately my wife Dr. Priyadarshini detected a lump in her Left Breast in the first week of March 2012 and was consulted and investigated.
Which turned out to be a Cancer for which she under went Left Mastectomy on 24th March,2012.
After several histo pathological tests that was confirmed and she would now require Chemotherapy for the same which would now advised six cycles and that would last up to October 2012.
So both of us thought of dropping the idea of going to Thialand-Bankok-Fuket.
This discision was intimated to Cox & Kings well in advance on 21st March 2012 where the date of journey was 02/05/2012 to 09/05/2012.
After geting the mail the Cox and Kings people asked me to give substitute couple in our place so as to get the refund which was never told to me before hand.
I tried that also but being medical professional and being under pressure of my wife`s disease I could not make this alternate arrangement.
Now Cox & Kings ,Prabhat Road Pune are refusing to refund me the amount.
How can I go ahead with this to tackle this problem with the best solution?
