No benefits on new year on calling or smsing

Name of company/service: Reliance India mobile

The Reliance India Mobile send us a message telling that on 31st & 1st no benefit will be given to the customer in case of call or sms. All calls will be charged with their base plan in spite of having your rate cutter promo ,that means with higher charges.Till last year it was limited only with sms now this year they charge extra on calling too.Is it fare? Can they change the freedom of the customer at any time? Then why is this rate cutter or promo service?
