MISUSE OF CREDIT CARD by EBAY SELLER

Dear Sir,

I was a loyal customer of Ebay. I was under the impression that Ebay is genuine, trustworthy and customer friendly world recognized website. But now I get to know that I had misperception about it. It is no more a reliable website where I can share my confidential credit card information for payment. I am writing this mail in highly unsatisfactory and annoying condition. I am very much angry and disappointed by Ebay’s unacceptable service.

I FOUND THAT EBAY DON’T HAVE GENUINE SELLERS. IT DOESN’T HAVE A ROBUST VERIFICATION PROCEDURE TO CHECK THE AUTHENTICITY OF SELLER.

I placed an order for NOKIA LUMIA 520 on 27th June at around 9.00pm. For this I paid Rs 8,263.95 from my HDFC credit card. The seller for this transaction was A.K.Tiwari which was listed on Ebay under the name “World.hell.0068”. Just after few minutes of my transaction this person fetched my credit card details and used it for various online transactions for his own personal use. He shopped for around Rs 55,000 from my credit card.

I blocked my card immediately as soon as I got to know about these fraudulent activities.

To confirm the authenticity of seller I called on Ebay customer care next day (28th June 2013) and explained the whole situation. The customer representative confirmed the authenticity of seller. I was told that all sellers on Ebay are 100% genuine seller and I should not worry about it.

Now after 2 days I got an email from Ebay stating that the Seller (A.K.Tiwari) has been delisted because it was not genuine and you will not receive your product.

For past 2 weeks I got highly exasperated and infuriated by handling Ebay customer care people, HDFC bank people and local police.
And ALL THIS HAPPENED DUE TO EBAY’s FRAUD SELLER.

I have written to Ebay regarding this and also called many times but they are not willing to help me. They told me that I will get refund of only Rs 8,263.95 for the product I ordered. They are not responsible for the fraudulent transactions done by Ebay seller.

I also told Ebay to take strict action against that seller and compensate me for my loss at least partially but they are not doing anything.

They are not at all accepting their mistake and trying to evade from this entire situation.

I want to register a complaint against Ebay that it doesn’t have genuine sellers and doesn’t cooperate fully with customers. They have fraud sellers to theft innocent customers.
