damage of Nokia Lumia 520

Location/place: Bangalore

Name of company/service: Nokia India

I bought a Nokia Lumia 520 from Sangeetha mobiles on 4th of July. Within two days of working it started hanging. I opened it to reinsert the sim card. To my surprise cracks came on the touch screen and it stopped working. On contacting the nokia service center I was told to pay rs 100 towards checking the mobile and then rs 3008/ for changing the touch screen. On asking that it was not my fault I was told that I put some sharp object and touch screen does not come under warranty. I should go through the manual supplied with it.

I understand that touch screen does not come under warranty but there can always be a technical problem that it cracked. I did not drop it, I did not use any sharp object to open it since I was shown how to open it by the vodafone people a day before. I put the complaint on facebook. Nokia people told me to write to their marketing team which I did and they said they will get in touch. So far no body has got in touch with me. When I posted the complaint second time to my surprise my message was deleted( this I was told that Nokia people delete the complaints which are not in their favour.

I request you to look into it. This is not the first time it has happened with me. Two years back I purchased Nokia 3100 from them. I was frequenting the center for whole one year and was told that for software problem they cannot change the handset. I am sure this damage is done by Nokia people (what they claim the I used a sharp object since they dont want to replace any handsets. Purchased vide bill no. SI/BOM3670 dtd 4/7/13 Lumia N 520 1.2 Nokia 357287051549527. Complaint no. to Nokia center Koramangala130709/69. I was told this is valid for 10 days and again if I do I will have to pay rs 100.
