Hi,
With great sorrow I am informing that the said policy has been miss sell to me. I was looking for a short term policy for the investment purpose and I was informed that I should go for Capital Multiplier and can surrender it after 3 years with all benefit.
I was never informed that there will be charges at the time of surrender. What I was informed is to pay 25000 for 3 years and after 3yrs when you surrender what Kotak will give is 2500*3 + 6 to 8 % + bonus.
Where in the reality is that what I will be getting is the accumulated fund – 10% surrender change which makes up to 50% of the total amount invested as per today’s scenario. As my accumulated amount is Rs.13347.16 out of Rs.24252.
We took the policy in January 2013 and got the document (booklet) in the second week of February that to after insisting the agent to send it ASAP.
After reading the document I called up the customer care to confirm few doubts I have in my mind and I was shocked to hear that if I surrender the policy after 3 years what I will get back is about 30 % of my total investment.
I immediately called the agent (Mahesh Agent code – 60144307) to confirm and was informed that there is nothing that will be lost and I will get what I have been promised (mentioned above)
I asked for a statement and since and till date I have not been given any information. I am doing continuous follow-up but no result.
Mr Mahesh promised “n” number of times that the information will be provided, then finally I asked for his manager he provided with Mr Naresh Shetty’s Number and after explaining the situation to him he promised to get back in 2 Hours and those 2 hours are still not complete.
I have also followed up with Ms Sonal their manager and once again what I received was fake promise nothing else. She Promised to meet in person (on Friday 26th April) and will explain the policy as well, and now she is not even bothered to provide response to my calls or have the decency to revert that she is not able to revert with an explanation.
Every time I tried to reach a branch I was assured by Mahesh and Sonal that there is no need to visit the branch and all information will be provided ASAP.
Today on 30th April I called the Aundh branch @ 02066406000 and explained the situation, the lady I spoke with informed the grievance department and I got a call from them @ 02066206683. They said to contact the branch manager to whom these fine associate report to, however I clearly informed that I have done enough follow up and please ask the branch manager to call back.
However I am still waiting for a call back. Where is this case of pure cheating and I would want to report this to IRDA as well.
I would appreciate your assistance.
