A fare was available for 2.5K from Mum-Goa on easemytrip and I booked it. I booked two separate tickets for the same amount. The bank account was also debited for this amount. I got PNR for 1 ticket and didnt get for other. So I immediately called easemytrip to sort this. Mazhar from customer services said there was no confirmed booking for that amount and that I will have to pay an additional amount to confirm the ticket. He actually meant pay the balance and I will issue your PNR. For which I said that I booked the ticket for the amount that was shown so why is it that I have to pay more for a PNR? He kept on repeating and asking me to pay the balance for him to issue to ticket. While for the other ticket we had received a confirmation at the same time. So I was finding this really unbelievable! He also told me that he will or his manager call me to sort this.
Mazhar also asked me to speak to Jet Airways. Jet also informed me that the ticket is showing booked and he even gave me a PNR- ylqtgo. When I called easemytrip customer advisor called Kalyani was checking the bookings for me. I had received no call from Mazhar till then. But I received a cancelled ticket notification while talking to Kalyani!! This really upset me as easemytrip cancelled the ticket w/o talking to me or even helping me out! Kalyani kept saying she cannot do anything and that I will have to buy a new ticket which now had increased to 9K!! She said that easemytrip will anyway give excuses that nothing can happen so no point in talking to Mazhar. As I kept asking her to connect with him directly and she kept saying his line is busy.This went on for 40 mins!
Finally as I kept insisting I was transfered to Mazhar, he was not at all apologetic and said that he had to cancel the ticket as he could not hold it for so long. And that now I will have to pay the fresh price for the ticket and nothing can be done! I had lost it by then and told him that he wasted my time by asking to call Jet and that he anyway had cancelled the ticket w/o consulting me. He went on saying nothing can be done. I will have to spend 9 K on the fare! I was on call by then for an hour!
Finally because I had insisted on sorting this situation and was being stern about it he said he has kept the ticket on hold…which initially he said he could no more! And I will have to pay a 4 K to get the same ticket. He then mailed me a link and I had to just pay there and he would then issue me a ticket. So I agreed to do that which ideally I shouldnt as I was getting the fare for 2.5 K. Anyway I paid but I received a transaction error message. So Mazhar told me to pay again. And this time too there was a transaction error! So by now I paid 4k twice! By then I received a notification of 8k being debited from my bank account! I was so annoyed with all this as for one ticket I had spent so many hours on call and now this! Mazhar issues my ticket and guess what the ticket had the same PNR that JET advisor had told me! So basically he just had to issue my ticket for which he took so much time and even asked me to pay more!
He said he will do an immediate transfer of the extra 4 K cash which I havent received yet and the other 2.5K will take 48 hours! He didnt even connect me with any senior and kept saying someone will call.
I had the worst experience while booking tickets on easemytrip. I really urge not to book tickets from their site as they will show some offer and then once you have booked the ticket they will call and say that its not confirmed and ask to pay more to issue your PNR. Very poor customer service and really unsympathetic advisors who kept saying nothing can be done! Be careful of easemytrip for cheap fares, offers, low air fares and deals on travel. I would rather stick to a yatra or makemytrip , India’s even if the fare is slightly higher atleast I can rely on them.
Now I have to wait for the refund of my cash & god knows how much time will that take!!
