Hello Sir,
With great regards, I would like to bring into your knowledge about an auto dealer and finance company’s wrong doing with me.
I, Surender Singh, had purchased TVS Scooty pep+ with registration no. CT1933 from Sai Baba TVS, Pune on 31st March 2011. They provided me insurance from Shriram General Insurance with cover note no. 113519. When I called the insurance company to renew my policy, they asked me for the policy no. as they couldn’t find this cover note in their database. Only then I came to know that I was not been provided my policy document.
I called my dealer and enquired about my policy no. After a long mail discussion(find below) they told me that my policy wasn’t made at all and now they are willing to provide me the full refund of the premium I paid. I consider this as a case of cheating and merely refunding my money is not a solution. As driving a vehicle on road without valid insurance cover is illegal and I was doing this without any fault of mine.
This is astounding that if a cover note was prepared and the insurance company received the money, how was it possible that they didn’t make the insurance.Every company has to maintain all financial transactions, how can one ‘forget’ it.It looks like these two companies/dealers are doing these type of things predominantly to cheat their customers and I smell here a financial mismanagement of high level.
Should I just ask for the refund of my original amount or I should go to court for more severe punishment to them, which can act as a deterrent to them?
Thanks!
Regards,
Surender Singh
