Illegally deactivation of service by Vodafone

Location/place: Delhi NCR

Name of company/service: Vodafone

Dear Sir,

I am Sanjib Kumar Mukhopadhyay, a valued customer of Vodafone as I have been using the mobile phone having connection Number 9868363440 (in Delhi Circle), which was earlier of MTNL Prepaid and later ported into Vodafone Postpaid in the month of April, 2013.

With great personal anguish and agony, I would like to bring it to your notice the following facts for your personal indulgence and immediate redressal please.

I was using a company paid Vodafone mobile bearing connection No 9582555835 in November, 2010, which was provided to me by the company where I was erstwhile working as an employee and this number was in the name of Ex-Servicemen Success Vision, Naraina, New Delhi. It is also pertinent to mention here that at that time Ex-Servicemen Success Vision bought a set of five corporate connections having a series 9582555835, 36, 37, 38 and 40 out of which I was given the No of 9582555835 and all these Nos were bought by the company from Vodafone by producing requisite proofs, documents, etc. of the company.

That time my company was asked by Vodafone to provide an alternate mobile number purely for contact or correspondence sake, if any, against which the company provided my personal No ie. 9868363440 without putting the same in my notice. However, that time this No was belonging to MTNL as I mentioned in the first paragraph above.

Suddenly, before 7 – 8 days, I received a text message from Vodafone stating that I have to pay a sum of Rs 1573 against mobile number 9582555835 followed by numerous harassing calls otherwise my current number ie. 9868363440 would be barred by Vodafone and needless to mention my number was barred. Vodafone Customer Care Executive said that my current mobile number 9868363440 which was given by your old company as alternate number has been registered in the system of Vodafone and I am responsible for making payments for the number 9582555835. On refusing to pay, I was offered a discount of Rs 500/- and subsequently, I a sum of Rs 1073/- was recovered from me vide Receipt No 14883 dated 14 June, 2013 (Name of collection executive is Mr. Satya Prakash), which I was not supposed to pay since the number does not pertain to me. In this connection, I was given an NOC also, which I am enclosing as proof. I was compelled to make this payment because I received umpteen No of calls from Vodafone followed by the service of my Mobile No 9868363440 was debarred.

Yesterday, I again received a text msg from Vodafone to make the payment of Rs 1326/- against No of 9582555837, which is an other number of the series of above corporate connection and I am reproducing the text msg “Hello. An amount of Rs 1362/- is due on your other Vodafone Number 9582555837. Request you to clear dues in next two day and help us serve you better“. How can Vodafone write such msg to me when neither I was the user of this number nor this number is in my name. And Vodafone will send me the msg to make payments for the remaining Nos of the above series. This means Vodafone is causing great amount of embarrassment by blackmailing its own innocent and honest customer like me for recovering illegal and unethical payments rather than catching the appropriate person of the company whose names are mentioned in the documents submitted with Vodafone at the time of purchasing the said corporate connections.

As a matter of proof, I have been regularly making payments against my current No of 98683630 and I have made a payment of Rs 1000/- just before a couple of days itself. Still Vodafone has deactivated my number 9868363440 for no fault of mine.

As a law abiding citizen and keeping the above in view, I would sincerely request you for the following:

. To restore the service of 9868363440 immediately.

· To carry out a due diligence and examine the case at your end immediately.

· To refund the payment of Rs 1073/- either by cheque/DD or adjust the same against the bill of 9868363440 without any delay or default.

· To refrain from sending such harassing text msg for making payments of the mobile numbers which I am not at all concerned. Vodafone is trying to pressurize me for making payments for the Nos of 9583555835, 36, 37, 38, 39 and 40 only on the premise of my current No ie. 9868363440 is registered in your system, which is not at all fair
