Ignorance and unprofessionalism on my MNP request

Location/place: Bhubaneswar

Name of company/service: Airtel

Hi,

I had applied for MNP from Aircel to Airtel on 6th of July 2013. I had provided photo copy of my Aadhar card, passport size photograph and paid Rs20 for SIM cost. All these were as per your executive present at the desk in Airtel office (Near XIMB) handling my request. It has been now 10 days since I applied for porting but I don’t have any update on it. I have contacted Aircel and they informed me that they have not received any communication from your end. I also called up your Customer Care and they informed me that Airtel has not received documents from me yet and hence they can’t proceed with the request. They also asked me visit Airtel Office and check for the documents. Can you please let me know why my request is being treated in such an unprofessional manner. I had ensured that I provided all documents that was asked for me by your executive in Airtel office. Still, you have not been able to even initiate the process of porting after 10 days from original request. Please look into the issue and below are all the details which you might need on this:

    Thanks for your reply and action taken. I received a call from Airtel Customer Service team representative and they heard my concern ensuring the best service. The current status on my MNP is that on 17th July I received an SMS from 1901 mentioning that the porting has been approved by the donor network and porting will be done at around 22:42 hrs on 17th July. I am no more receiving the signal from my old operator. But, the issue is that I am not yet receiving signal on my Airtel SIM as well. The representative who talked with me on 17th July evening ensured me that I will be able to receive Airtel signal from 18th July morning. As my SIM card does not seem to be activated yet, can you please look into the issue and expedite the activation process.

    Thanks again for your response. I am getting signal on my SIM now. And I completed the tele verification as well on 18th July at around 1:30 pm. I was told that within 15 minutes of tele-verification my SIM will start working. But, its not working yet. When I call on my number then it says that the number is currently not in service. I also called up the customer care and they said me that there is some technical issue and they are working on the issue. Please look into the problem and ensure that the issue gets resolved ASAP. I believe that there can’t be any so called technical problem which you should not be able to resolve in a day time. I can’t afford to have such a long back out on my number.

    I am totally unsatisfied and have feeling of betrayal now for the kind of service that Airtel is offering. Today at around 11 am the incoming call got activated on my Airtel SIM. But outgoing was still not activated. The recharge attempts failed with a message mentioning some technical issue being the reason for recharge failure. I called up customer care again and there came the biggest surprise for me. During the call the executive (Ravindra), just for confirmation asked me whether SIM is registered on the name of “Amrendra Kumar”. Now, thats my father’s name. Can someone from Airtel give me a good reason on why the SIM has been activated on my Father’s name when all documents provided to you are on my name which is “Himanshu Kumar”. My concern is that all you verification stages passed including tele-verification and no one till now mentioned that SIM is not registered on my name. If you could do the entire process on my father’s name on your application then the same could have been done on any Mr. XYZ’s name. Is this any kind of negligence which can been accepted. For your information, when I had gone to Airtel Store to apply for MNP, I insisted to fill the form on my won, but your executive present over there asked me to just sign and said that he will do the needful. I want an explaination on this from Airtel and if I don’t get a good answer from you then I am going to take you to court. It is just not a question of poor service, you have activated a SIM on a name for whom you never got documents. Please consider this issue on a very serious note and also ensure that all facilities on my number are restored as soon as possible. My alternate contact number is 09341863281.
