I had purchased a Nokia Lumia 1520 phone along with which I paid to get complete cover (including theft and damages) from Universal Insurance Brokers Service Pvt. Ltd. The phone’s screen cracked after which I launched a request to get the phone repaired through the insurance company (claim no. 1400014693). They kept my phone for 3-4 weeks and returned it by stating “not enough evidence of accidental damage” which was by all means an absurd reply. I kept using the phone anyways also trying simultaneously to get my claim reconsidered during which the phone’s screen broke after falling out of my pocket. I registered another claim for the repair of the screen for which my phone was taken again on 20/11/2014 (claim no. 1400021060). The phone since then is submitted with the company and every time I call on their helpline 022-49107910 they request for a new document (though I have already submitted claim form, original bill, id proof address proof, insurance documents). These document requests are just to unnecessarily prolong the process or to find a reason to reject yet another claim. I do not receive any communication from the company’s end until I call on the helpline and ask for it due to which my phone is still with the company for 2 months now and they still have no answer as to if the phone will be repaired under insurance claim or not.
Its just a hoax to make the customer so uncomfortable that he asks for the commodity to be returned un-repaired or does not register a claim from the fear of losing his commodity for such long periods.
