Harassment and delay in approving insurance claim

I had purchased a Nokia Lumia 1520 phone along with which I paid to get complete cover (including theft and damages) from Universal Insurance Brokers Service Pvt. Ltd. The phone’s screen cracked after which I launched a request to get the phone repaired through the insurance company (claim no. 1400014693). They kept my phone for 3-4 weeks and returned it by stating “not enough evidence of accidental damage” which was by all means an absurd reply. I kept using the phone anyways also trying simultaneously to get my claim reconsidered during which the phone’s screen broke after falling out of my pocket. I registered another claim for the repair of the screen for which my phone was taken again on 20/11/2014 (claim no. 1400021060). The phone since then is submitted with the company and every time I call on their helpline 022-49107910 they request for a new document (though I have already submitted claim form, original bill, id proof address proof, insurance documents). These document requests are just to unnecessarily prolong the process or to find a reason to reject yet another claim. I do not receive any communication from the company’s end until I call on the helpline and ask for it due to which my phone is still with the company for 2 months now and they still have no answer as to if the phone will be repaired under insurance claim or not.
Its just a hoax to make the customer so uncomfortable that he asks for the commodity to be returned un-repaired or does not register a claim from the fear of losing his commodity for such long periods.

They are cheats and if my phone is not sent back to me I would request strict action against this company.

    1. Please refer to conversation on cell phone number 8424955582 of Mr Bahadur on 5 Nov 2015 regrading Insurance claim of mobile No 8147145630 Nokia Lumia 730 DS Imei No 359753061412525 of my son Ashwani Jugran. All documents for claim with FIR of police have already been forwarded to you. Hence you required Original copy of acknowledge original stamp of police. After repeated request so many time with police but stated that original copy to be required by Court on the theft cases. Hence The GD No 0301/2015 and Land Line No 08022942548 and address has already in the FIR. Now you are requested to process the claim without any further delay and to avoid unnecessary harassment otherwise i will go to consumer court.
