I had put up my query for a full time maid (24*7) on online platforms i.e. Sulekha, Quikr,Just Dial. I got a call from the number 9891781447 the person claiming to be running a maid agency under the name Yadhubanshi Maid Service. The person who referred himself as Shobhanand Yadav provided all the detailed documents of his firm telling that its a proper registered firm under the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi and an 18 year old firm in Delhi . He provided with all the details like his Aadhar card, PAN card . Also, he gave options of the employers with his firm who work as maids/full time helpers with a 2 year agreement . Also he provided the Aadhar details of the maid who was available immediately. When we agreed to take his services , he then sent a maid with the name Preeti Kumari at our place and told that she has 5 years of work experience. He charged us 10,000 Rs as a part of agencie’s commission and advance 4 months salary of the maid i.e. 24000 Rs and travel charges of the maid (since we were located at a different location than Delhi i.e. Mohali) i.e. 2000 Rs. Hence total he charged us 36000 Rs. and requested us to pay immediatley as the maid was now at our place. He provided a Gpay number 8595872430 in the name of Babita Barda . We paid him the amount i.e. 36k via the Gpay number he had shared with us.
The maid was there at our home for about 7-8 hrs and suddenly eloped without informing anyone . After this when contacted the supposed maid agency and talked to the guy (Shobhanand Yadav) about this incident he said not to worry , his agency takes full responsibility and would provide with replacement within a day. After that we kept on following him to either return our money or provide a replacement but either the phone was swtiched off or he stoped receiving our calls. It is then that we realised something is fishy and the whole thing seems ot be a fraud.
