Good Day!!
This complain is in reference to the new vehicle Toyota fortuner which was delivered by Om Toyota Jaipur on 30th Jan 2013 on our company name Laxmi International Export, Jaipur.
I would like to inform you that on 5th Feb 2013 god has saved me from big miss happening. I live in a flat and our parking is in basement, all our cars are parked in lower basement. More than 100 cars are parked there every day.
On 5th Feb 2013 it was drizzling, and I thought I will take new car to the office. When I tried to take out the car from basement through our ramp car stopped in between on slope and there was another car on the rear side, when I tried to accelerate more than wheels got free and there was no motion in the vehicle. Somehow I managed to indicate the car on the rear side to go back.
I thought the gears are in automatic mode and this could be the reason, I pulled hand brake to stop the vehicle and then I took this vehicle slowly back in the basement. Tried again by changing the mode in manual but same thing happened and to save myself I again accelerated, after acceleration rear wheels shifted to the right by this vehicle got banged to the wall.
After listening the noise of acceleration and banging, all our society guards and ground floor flat owners came out. Somehow we managed to take the vehicle out which was stuck in between. Six people pushed the vehicle to take it out from the basement. There is very minimum slope but all my family is shocked after seeing the performance of this vehicle, truly speaking I am still scared from this morning. It was god’s blessing that I was alone in this car not with my family and 3 months old baby.
We been driving Toyota vehicles for many years now and have never faced such problem, as we have one more Toyota fortuner which was also bought from OM Toyota. We been always happy with the vehicle and dealer service.
Our factory has also basement parking, so I am really afraid that I cannot drive this vehicle. It’s been only few days we have taken the delivery of this car and we are in big trouble. Because if I take this vehicle to park in the basement then I cannot bring it back so for me there is no value for this vehicle. To drive this I cannot change my house or factory (work place), as both places has basement parking.
After our telephonic complain the staff from OM Toyota visited our building along with their demo vehicle and they refused that this vehicle cannot climb this nominal ramp and in front of them other cars were going and coming from same route.
I regret to inform you about the product failure of this brand new fortuner which I have been handed over by your esteemed company. The car COULD NOT climb out of my basement (pls see video link http://cl.ly/3N0P1L412u15 ). Is this how you launch your products ? Do you have a product testing department ? This is a ‘manufacturing defect’ and it is NOT ACCEPTABLE !! I do not want to upload this video on youtube YET. So please be co-operative !
It gets worse, I have not been offered a replacement car while the car still parked in my basement because it cannot climb out. So I had to arrange drivers / taxis which has caused me discomfort and inconvenience.
I was very excited to buy the Toyota Fortuner since I already own one for almost 2 years. With extreme disappointment and despair, I have to say that this was the biggest mistake I made in terms of choosing a car brand.
After spending Rs. 26 lacs on this useless piece of machine, here I’m sitting in my office chair typing this mail to you whilst one of my busy drivers arrange a replacement car because Toyota Fortuner does not owe me one since its my mistake for choosing this brand. Well done Japanese Engineering. Great \” Performance \” !
You can take the Toyota Fortuner back as I not accepting this faulty product so that I can live happily and SAFE!! .
Please help me by resolving this big issue.
