Dell Service not provided as promissed and have kept postponing without clarity on availability of parts

Location/place: Mumbai

Name of company/service: Dell

This is in regard to Dell Studio 1558 laptop Service:
I was promissed that the laptop would be repaired in 2-3 business days and i need it for an important meet. I precisely enquired if the service would be done as promissed before making payment for which they assured that it would be done in 2-3 days.

2 days later i get a call from local service guys saying that the parts are not yet available so would be providing the service once they are available, upon asking by what time would they receive the parts, they dont have a clue.

I called up dell india service centre, where no one has any clue when would my service be provided. After talking to 4-5 guys it seemed no one has a clue about the same.

The next day i tried reaching them again and after having word with a few, I demanded to connect me to the guy who processed my order, i got a call back from the guy who actually took payment and promissed service in 2-3 days. He says he would find out and let me know the status, assuring again that it would be done in the next 2 days (in total 4-5 days from the date of payment after excluding weekends).

No call came even the next day, so i again called up to check the status, only to be informed that the service could be provided only after 15/04/2013, as the parts were not available.

Worst off all, no one has any clue on the happenings. It took them like 5 working days to find out that the unavailable parts would be available only by 15/04/2013 (which would be 11th day since payment).

I’m loosing precious time for the stupidity of dell service. If they dont have a clue shut the service centre and should stop providing service. It would have been easier for me to purchase a new laptop, but unfortunately i had fallen into this issue.

    **on the bottom of the laptop on the white sticker
    **it’s a seven digit alphanumeric code which ends with BS or number 1.
