Name of company/service: Birla Sun Life Insurance

Dear Sir/Madam,

I had put a cheque (Number :: 031653) in favor of Birla Sun Life dated 22 May 2012 which has been returned. My statement states that there is an alteration in the cheque due to which it was returned.(“Alterations/Corrections on instruments are prohibited under CTS @NDH03627”).

I was given the reason from Birla Sunlife that my cheque was returned because of SIGNATURE mismatch, because of which i took an action against the bank seeking an explanation for the same. The response from the bank clearly stated that there was an alteration done in the cheque. and proved (by screen-shot) that this BIZARRE was not carried out by bank but BIRLA SUNLIFE employee.

I have already sent many mails and called them. But every time they send a new interaction id. Its been almost 40 days and yet there is no response from them. I have asked many things from them which they haven’t replied.

I am sure the SENIOR MANAGEMENT (may be Owner too) is a BIG FRAUD.

Please explain few things :

* Who has given the right to modify customers cheque without his/her permission ?

This case come under CHEQUE FRAUD and a serious action should be taken against BIRLA SUNLIFE for this FORGERY. I need names of the concerned persons who was involved in such an act. Let me know if any SENIOR MANAGEMENT Authorites are involved in this FRAUD.

* Why wrong Information was given to customer ?

I was given the reason of Signature Mismatch instead of the actual goof-up which BIRLA SUNLIFE employee has done. I had a meeting with Executive Head for Operations and my Relationship Manager of bank regarding the same and they justified with evidences that they are on the good side.

Also, the information provided to Birla SUNLIFE from CITI BANK clearly states that the cheque returned was due to the “Alteration on cheque”. Inspite of knowing this they gave wrong information to the customer.
This shows PROFESSIONAL UNWILLINGNESS of BIRLA SUNLIFE towards the customer and how well they can mis-lead their customers.

This also proves that the process in BIRLA SUNLIFE is LAME. They don’t have PROPER CHECKS in place where they can figure out what went wrong and give correct information to Customer. Also ,the bank drawn name was wrong . This shows how educated BIRLA SUNLIFE employees are.

* Cheque Return

This was the first time my cheque was dishonored and returned. Its highly annoying to me. I have more than sufficient balance to pay BIRLA SUNLIFE for my insurance.

Already OFFICIAL notice mails is been sent to BIRLA SUNLIFE to pay Cheque Dishonored Charges and provide a proper reasoning to the above questions but they haven’t taken any actions on it.

I hope i can get some reply now.
