Cheating of Customers while claiming insurance

Name of company/service: ICICI Lombard GIC

I have taken my car insurance from ICICI Lombard GIC when I bought my car in March 2010 and the policy was renewed for this financial year also and valid till March 2013.

Till now I have’nt made any claims on policy, but I had 2 damages (Wind Shield Crack & running board damage) in a span of 10 days ie during last week of April, I took to the workshop in the authorised service station for insurance claim and rework.

The insurance survey officer after survey had only approved wind shield glass claim and rejected running board claim saying no 2 claims can be made at a time. So I got my windshield glass replaced and got my car back home. Now again when I claim for running board damage its again rejected saying old/ existing damage. When I spoke to the officer & his manager directly thru phone, they again say no 2 damages can be claimed so they rejected the calaim last time & now that this issue was already existing this claim cannot be made again since its a old damage.

There is no where mentined a time frame of report of claim for insurance,

– So for me it may be a old or new I have the insurance from begining till today with the same company.

– It is always possible that multiple damages can happen with a day or week or month or hour also, and it can be irrelevant damage ie one glass damage and the other running board.

– The insurance company now say it could be older damage before renewal, even if its older damage company should pay since I have the valid policy from their company.
