Hi,
I went with my friend to see the movie “Gangs of Wasseypur II” at *Entertainment Paradise* (EP) located at Tonk Road – Jaipur, Rajasthan on 19 August 2012. The show was supposed to begin at 6:45 PM (as we saw in the local newspapers ”Rajasthan Patrika” published on 19 August 12012) and keeping that in mind we reached EP well before the time of the show. As we approached the ticked window we were told that the movie is not shown at this time due to technical difficulties. Since we traveled from a faraway place, we wanted a justification from the manager. The manager (so called Mr. Murari Sharma) told us the same as the staff at ticket window. Upon asking for a written note about the technical difficulty causing the cancellation of the show, the manager told as that we are not his boss or senior. We argued that we are customers and we have the right to get this information/justification in written. He then, told us that they have sent an email about the cancellation of the show to the newspapers in advance. We were convinced from that piece of information; however, we wanted to confirm it therefore we asked for a copy of that email and the manager refused to do so or assist us in any manner.
We were sad to be in such a situation and decided to take a legal action in the view of saving/protecting our (customer/consumer) rights.
We have the original newspapers where the advertisements and schedule for the movie were published. We would be grateful for any legal assistance in this concern. Do we stand a chance in the consumer court?
Thanks for impending assistance from your side.
Regards,
Nand Kishor Kumawat
