I bought a brand new Micromax Canvas 4 phone from Cell City shop near Four Bungalows, Andheri West Mumbai in morning on 8th August ’13 at 11.00. The phone was working fine all day when I took it home I tried to put in the free flip cover given in the box.
I gently removed the cover from the back carefully since its my brand new phone worth Rs.19,000/-. However along with the back cover the camera lens cover came out. I tried to fit it back it went back in but was loose and kept coming out.
I went to the shop owner who said he will fix it and gave it back in 5 minutes. The lens cover again came out within 30 minutes, upon visiting Cell City again the owner tried to fix it, This time the cover came our within 10 minutes of him returning it to me. I had to go back to the shop owner and demanded a replacement. The shop owner said as per Micromax policy I need to go to the service center. Upon repeated demands Cell City, Four Bungalows Mumbai did not care about me as a customer and kept saying I need to visit the service center.
I called Micromax customer care where Ankur the service person was very helpful he has told me to go to the Vile Parla Service Center and get a DOA certificate from the company and get it give to retailer who will give replacement.
Today being Eid the service center is closed. So I am going tomorrow and hope that my I will be given DOA certificate and a new replacement phone which does not have this same issue.
This a complaint against Micromax for all the inconvenience it has caused by creating a cheap quality built of the camera lens cover.
I have been using Micromax A90 for last 1 year and always recommend Micromax to my friends and family. This has been a very shocking experience and I hope that I will be given a replacement.
