Location/place: Secunderabad, India
Name of company/service: Bharti Airtel Mobile Phone Connection
If you take your mobile connection for granted, believe me, you are terribly wrong. Probably, all it takes is for an agent in the call centre or a technical guy to want to play pranks with you. He/she can just inactivate your mobile phone connection and sit back to watch all the fun. I’m telling this because, it looks like that is just what has happened to my mobile connection.
I have applied for conversion from pre-paid to post-paid mobile phone connection. They have taken all the necessary documentation and followed all the steps. The final step is that of final verification of the customer’s name, address etc. I did this by calling their designated number 590590. They confirmed that the verification has been successful. After this the connection is supposed to come alive in an hour. However, for that one hour the agent said, I will not be able to make any outgoing calls. I believed him innocently and hung up without asking any further questions.
I was awakened to a rude shock when I realized that all outgoing as well as incoming communication of my mobile phone connection has been blocked.
It has been more than 24 hours since my mobile phone went dead. Bharti Airtel (my carrier) could not (probably are not) do a shit about it. Shoddy service of Bharti Airtel and especially their Andhra Pradesh region.
I have made tons of calls to their (documentation) representative Shweta at +91 9963551918 as well as their call centre without any use. All I hear from them, “Your connection will be active in couple of hours”. It has been more than 36 hours now. When I spoke to one of their supervisors an hour back, he says, “Within 24 hours your connection will be active”. See that? It means I have to wait another 24 hours. Till then all my incoming and outgoing communication is totally blacked out. It could happen to anybody..for no fault of his/hers. One hell of a service from Bharti Airtel !
