Beware of Reader’s Digest

Location/place: MUMBAI

Name of company/service: Reader’s Digest

I had ordered a gold plated kite-like pendant studded with Zirconiafrom Reader’s Digest after having been pestered by their commercial campaign with which they usually exploit their readers,so as to reach me before Valentine’s day this year. It arrived late by VPP, and I paid the contracted price of Rs. 999/-.Soon I discovered that it has turned black.
Upon contacting their Customer Relations deptt. on 022-67122622 I was advised by Ms. Sana to return the “KITE LIKE GOLD PLATED PENDANT”delivered to me by VPP for Rs.999/-, which has turned black within two months of delivery, to their office which is located in a god-forsaken place in a remote village in Raigad district in Maharashtra. She has further advisd me to send the pendant by courier by not mentioning the contents as pendant.

I did not want to do this, as there would be no proof of my having returned the same. Hence I called upon them to send their representative who will collect the same from my residence in exchange of Rs.999/- they have not agreed for this. They insist that I send the faulty item by parcel post for a replacement. I do not want to spend any more money on this nor undertake any further procedure to comply with their requirements.
