My parents bought a Tata Sumo grande from Basudev auto,Ranchi. They also purchased the extended warranty for the same. The sales people gave a lot of big talks about how they care about customers and why my father should always come to them for any future vehicle purchase.
Thank god, my family did not go to them for another purchase.
My father religiously followed the car’s service schedule and never ever went to a local garage for any kind of service. Even though the showroom charged a lot of premium for any services/repair.
A few days ago, the car’s fuel injector/pump gave away. Obviously my father tried to contact the showroom, as the car is still very much under extended warranty.
All of a sudden, the people at the showroom are very rude. The total cost for repair comes out to be about 45000. My father is a salaried person and frankly doesn’t know what to do at this point.
The people at the showroom told him that he did not do the oil change at the designated service and that’s why they cannot repair the part under extended warranty.
This is completely wrong. There has never been a single visit to any other garage except the designated service centre.
At this point my father doesn’t know what to do. He had paid his hard earned money for the extended warranty just for this day. So that if something wrong happens, the warranty will cover the costs.
Not only Basudev Auto completely declined to take the responsibility, they had the nerves to tell him that if he gets the repair done at their place, they will offer him discount.
I, myself own a Fiat punto and I used to think that TATA service is not as bad as people think. Well I was wrong. The showrooms like Basudev Auto only show their colors AFTER you have purchased the vehicle.
I request everyone to refrain from buying a car from Basudev Auto Ranchi if you want peace of mind.
These people will just forget you once the purchase is finished,
