In the month of Dec 2012, I purchased a post paid Idea Connection (8652200828). This was a corporate plan sold to me at my office by the Idea sales person – Mr. Farooq (contact # 8652764438)
I was shown a brochure with 3 Idea plans being offered to IBM employees.(I have a copy of the brochure which I can produce as evidence if required)
I was also told that these are special 3G plans (Rs 98 for GB and Rs.149 for 2 GB)
So, as per the brochure, I opted for the IBM Rs. 249 Plan and told your sales person that I also wanted the 1 GB 3G add-on pack. He said no problem.
After 2 days I get a call from Idea telling me that the IBM 249 plan does not exist and that I have to take the IBM 349 plan. To add to that, I was also told the 3G plan @ Rs 98 does not exist, and that the rates on the brochure were for 2G plans.
Since I urgently required the line with an internet connection I asked the Idea representative to activate the 2G plan @ Rs 98 on my account.
A lot transpired since then and I was asked to make immediate payments in excess of Rs 3500 at the time.
Despite me writing numerous emails and calling up their helpline nothing was done. See details of complaint number 24464513 as proof.
I then placed a request for deactivation of the account.
About a month back I got a call from the Idea Settlement and the person I spoke to accepted that the error was on behalf of the company and that after making adjustments I was to pay a full and final amount of approximately Rs 800. But due to the harrowing experience that these guys put me through I did not pay a peeny.
Now yesterday I received a call from the Delhi Information Center (+918130703475) and I was told that I’m being sued by the company for non payment of outstanding charges of Rs 4663. I was told to speak to an Advocate by the name of Disha Sharma (08750466798) for more case details. She told me I have 30 minutes to pay the whole amount of Rs 4663 and failure to do so would result in a legal case being filed against me in the Delhi High Court and that I would then need to make it to Delhi for all the hearings. I made the full payment to avoid any possible hassles for me.
I am writing to you seeking corrective action about the whole issue. I know I’ve written a lot but this is only so that the complaint manager at Akosha gets the complete picture of things. I would not have had a problem paying Rs 4663 had it been even slightly my fault. The whole case is baseless and like I’ve said earlier I have ample evidences that I could produce if required.
Hoping for a proper solution and a full refund of my last payment.
