WOODLAND Sandals wrong size given in box on purchase by mentioning right size on cash memo

I have Bought a pair of sandals from woodland store located in cannaught place new delhi on 18/08/2012.I had selected 42 size and same is mentioned on the cash memo but they have given 41 size in the box.Now i have worn it for a while in my campus and then realized that it is uncomfortable and size is not appropriate.I conveyed the same to them immediately and they asked me to exchange the same through near by store.when i went to a store in ghaziabad they asked this pair is used one now and hence can’t be replaced.I am feeling cheated in a way as the pair of sandals seem useless to me now and it’s shear waste of Rs 2295.
