Dear Sir!
I have an AIRTEL prepaid connection no:09677229399. A few days back there was a message on beauty tips, which was ignored & deleted. To my utter surprise today,I got a message saying “Thank you for choosing BEAUTY TIPS_2070 on your airtel mobile. You have been charged Rs.1.5 for 1 days and your account balance post charging is Rs.83.37 at 11.40”.On noticing it @12.08pm, I immediately made a call to 198 & was informed that I have subscribed for the same. Even on severe bombarding, the attender wouldn’t give me the higher officials line, and even refused to give the address of her office for a clarification/initiate action. This is purely against RTI rules on right to information. If I have/had subscribed for the same, they are bound by duty to inform me prior to activating the same, but surprisingly no record of SMS or intimation.This is a classic example of forcibly levying charges on a client without intimation or prior approval. Kindly initiate some process or procedure to control / penalise / refrain Telecom companies from taking their subscribers for a ride. If this practise goes unchecked, today’s Rs.1.5 deduction could soon run into Hundreds & later Thousands. Kindly intimate procedure/process details to claim refund & send a stiff warning to the Telecom Major…My e-mail id:[email protected]..
