We had taken an EMI on our TATA Nano a few years ago and just a few months back paid off the remaining dues in one payment well in advance as we were about to travel abroad for a month or so and didn’t want any dues back home. They said they would provide us with a no dues certificate and we trusted them. Turns out that they auto-debited an unwarranted installment from our account! This is unacceptable. We even tried to get in touch with them but ended up wasting our time on kids at their call center. Even received a call and they committed to refunding our amount and even made us send a scanned copy of cancelled cheque to do the same. No progress since then. Will drag them to consumer court if something isn’t done.
