SIM Card Activation– Worst Service by Airtel

Location/place: Bangalore

Name of company/service: Airtel Postpaid

HI

I bought a corporate Airtel Postpaid SIM Card and they told it will be activated within 48 Hours that is 2 days, but it’s almost 9 Days, Still my SIM Card Service is Not Enabled, I was Calling them Daily to the Service Provider and they respond saying there was a Server issue it has been rectified now and today defiantly it will be activated end of the day. But no one from the Service Provider end called me and updated the Status to me.

Since I am using the Alternate phone which was in Roming and I was called them daily about 3 times a day and noting happen till now, only my Roming charges increased, I would have spent at least 100 to 150 by calling them in this 9 Days

Kindly take necessary steps to the issue asap

    i am facing the same problem now, they charged 300 rupees from me and no response from any one – i have the numbers o team manager and team leader, who stopped receiving calls

    Hi,
    This is the work culture of the AIRTEL, they never care about the customer.
    And they wont try to fix the customer issues, they always interested to mange the customer calls.
    Eventhoug you call them in every day you get the same repeted answers from the AIRTEL customer care executives because they are trained to manage the customer calls not to fix the issues.
    My best advaise is please file the case in consumer court and demond the high compensation, if every one do the same then they will work properly other wise some more person will raise the complaint again and again.

    Till now the Activation is not happen and I am really frustrated of the service given to me.
    Because of the delay I am getting a hug roaming rates, for this 3 Weeks I got the unbilled amount more than 1000 and at least I have spent 200 to 250 for calling Airtel Person to get the update. Kindly try to activate As soon as possible and kindly provide me the compensation for this 3 weeks since there is a delay at your End. And I have faced lots of challenges these days.
    Note: I am the User of Airtel server for the past 7 Years, but all the believe spoiled because of the last three week incident.

    Dear Mr. Karthikeyan,
    Better you file a suit in consumer court. However, the airtel will file defending that the case is not maintainable in view of Hon’ble Supreme Court judgement in the case of “General Manager, Telecom Versus M. Krishnan and another”, Civil Appeal No.7687 of 2004. However, you can go ahead referring the case of Vipan Sharma son of Mohinder Lal, resident of House No.264, Street No.2, Extension, Kundan Nagar, Ferozepur City, Tehsil and District Ferozepur vs Bharti Airtel Company Limited, Punjab, Chandigarh C-25, Industrial Area, Phase-II, S.A.S. Nagar, Mohali, Punjab-160055 which says that the private cellular service providers air tel or any other private company cannot avail the benefit of the judgment of the Hon’ble Supreme Court titled as “General Manager, C.C. No.394 of 2010 Telecom Versus M. Krishnan & Anr.” (supra). As such, the Hon’ble State Commission, Punjab, vide order dated 22.2.2010, has held that the consumers have the right to challenge the actions of the private telecom service providers by filing complaints under the Consumer Protection Act, 1986.
    You may also refer the case of Asha Sharma, in which the airtel has failed to activate SIM, so the court ordered to pay Rs 6,000 as fine. I am also facing the similar problem and in spite of several representation, no result has come out, whereas, I am the customer of air tel since for the last 10 years.
