Shortage of change money in Bangalore for past 2 – 3 years

Sir,
I am really fed up with the services provided by Bangalore shop keepers and bus fares. Every one is asking for change amount and they are not ready to give in return the required amount to be returned to the customer / passenger.

We don’t have coin and money vending machine that 365 days – 2 times a day, we would be in a position to tender enough amount of change amount with whatever we are dealing with either buying products of availing services or while travelling.

BMTC is the worst experience in Bangalore – they are never ready to return back the required amount of change to the passengers and often I either ignore us or keep us waiting on our toes to get back the change. If at all they provide, they return money in the form of damaged and taped notes.

It has become difficult to accept such damaged notes coz. these people have double standards. When they have to give the change to the passenger – they talk about RBI notes and currencies but time and again I have experienced that when we give the same note to the bus conductors – they don’t accept it back saying the note is not proper or cello taped.

If we start accepting such currency notes – we would end up piling a huge amount of notes and no body wants to have it in return.

Where are the currencies of 1 Re, 2 Re and 5 Re gone, It is acute shortage in Bangalore. So difficult to get one.

Another bad experience is with the shop keepers – they will take our fresh notes and return the change amount in one of the worst conditions the notes are – they are highly damaged or rotten and very delicate to handle such notes. Another issue is no one wants it back when we think about using that note in this market.

So, double standards and one way traffic practices are going on in Bangalore since long for which we end up suffering time and again.

Please instruct the RBI and Enforcement Law agencies to take stringent action to make these notes to-and-fro basis and please get enough change amounts rotating in Bangalore. I have even noticed Bus conductors tendering the change amount for a higher price to the shopping malls.

Hope you would surely take appropriate action in the matter at the earliest.

Regards
