The local shopkeeper in my society does not accept 50 paisa coin. I wanted to buy a shampoo sachet which was Rs. 1.50. I offered him 1 rupee coin along with 50 paisa coin. He declined the money and asked me to either buy 2 sachets (total Rs. 3) or none. There was another incident happened. The 250 ml milk packet had MRP Rs 9.50. Same shopkeeper is charging Rs 10.0 for this packet and refuses to sell it otherwise.
There are many shopkeepers in the city who follow this. Strict action should be taken against such activities.
