Dear sir , we went to the THE WONTON restaurant for eating. Please clarify me ,,,,, 14% VAT is to be applied on 60% of total bill, meaning effective service tax is 5.6% of total bill only if you dine in an AC restaurant.But restaurants are charging 5.6 % service for 100% bill amount plus charging as well as 100% VAT on that.
my bill is 1,340
service tax is 5.8 % 78
vat 14.5% is 206
total 1624
if we want to complaint to govt authorities , what is the way
