Refusal of connection on issued ticket

My husband and I were issued through tickets from Chandigarh to Kolkata with change of flight at Delhi for flights AI-863 and AI-020 dated 12th April 2012. At Chandigarh airport, we were told that this connection was not possible as the time between the two flights was not enough to board the flight AI-20 from Delhi for Kolkata.Eventually we missed the flight AI-020. We were put in AI-764 which was to depart 5 hours later.Cosequently, we missed a very important family function. I made a written complaint to the Airport Manager, Air India Ltd. at IGI Airport, Delhi on the same day. Nearly a month later, I received an appology letter (on May 8,2012) for the inconvenience caused to us. In response, I sent a registered letter on June 6,2012, highlighting the major lapse in their ticket management that caused the problem and demanded the refund of the travel cost in compensation to the harassment we had to undergo. I have not received any response from Air India till date.
