Refund provisions should be there because keying in a wrong number while recharging is very common situation

Location/place: Bangalore

Name of company/service: Airtel

I wanted to recharge my datacard numbered 9980537269 with Rs 450. But I keyed in a wrong number which was 9880537269, and since this number is a mobile number, even he did not get the amount credited to his account. I called the customer care people 7-8 times but no customer care representative took the call. Then I asked my friend to call from her airtel number and they responded. They said it will be refunded if you have recharged it from a shop. So I went back to the retailer and asked him to talk to those people. He talked to 2 people and both said nothing can be done. Even I talked to the customer care representative and he was like “We can’t refund the money, you have to recharge it again. Topups like 20 30 Rs amount can be refunded”. My question is who wants these 20 30 amount back. And when none of the two airtel subscribers (9980537269 or 9880537269)got the amount credited, who is getting this money into their pockets? When this can be a common situation, why haven’t they made any provisions for refunding? It seems they want to take benefit out of this as well but it’s no way a correct thing.
