Refund of cancelled transaction not given

I had booked bus ticket on 5th January 2015 for 19th January amounting to rs. 1260 with goibibo.com & cancelled it subsequently on either 12th or 13th January 2015 well in advance. As per the cancellation rules I must have got refund of rs. 1000 from goibibo. However it has denied refund stating that the ticket was not cancelled by operator & hence refund will not be processed. I would request goibibo to refund my hard earned money. I am not a thief like goibibo who takes away money from poor people. I am a common man. I do not want goibibo to force me to file legal suit for forgery & mental harassment.
